This is an embroidery recreation of a colorful vase. Silk embroidered vases normally have two or more layers on the stitches, depending on different patterns.

Pekin-knot stitches (French-knot) were used for the whole vase. Pekin-knot winds thread twice, or three times on needle and makes small knots on each stitch. It is one of the traditional Chinese silk embroidery stitches. The vase was well stitched and looks solid. The colors or patterns on vases manifested traditional and ancient Chinese art. The vase looks realistic and three-dimensional.
