Religion  Bodhisattva Guanyin -- the Goddess of Mercy has been worshipped by the Chinese population from centuries past until now. Three special days would be celebrated every year: her birthday on Feb, 19; the convent day on June 19 and Guanyin's day on Sept, 19. Guanyin is considered to be a benevolent Goddess. She can tide people over difficulties and answer their prayers.The silk embroidery of her image is similar to portrait embroidery paintings but more difficult.
