Description:

This is an embroidery recreation with Batik patterned cotton material as background of a woman with her daughter. The image is exaggerated and abstracted from traditional folklore. The lady was playing music instrument--Lute, also called Pipa. Pipa is a traditional stringed instrument and already had two thousand years of history, also spread to East Asia. The heavy and energetic stitches formed the image for her body, the Lute, her fingers, her dresses and posture greatly. Some metallic thread partially used for this image.

This is fine piece of embroidery with Batik patterns on the cotton fabric. Different kind of techniques and crafters were needed for finishing up this piece.
