Description: This is an embroidery recreation of a famous painting from modern famous scholar, calligrapher, brush painter and poet -- Fan Zeng (1938-present). Fan Zeng is proficient in line drawing especially for figures in brush painting. His historical figure paintings are delicate, casual and elegant, lifelike and vivid.

This is lovely image of a scholar with a young boy. It seems the scholar is teaching and the boy is listening. They look concentrated with their attention. The details of the older man's and young boy's bodies, bearing, clothes, feet, fingers, grass and rocks on the ground, the stick, the bowl with lid and the pine tree behind them were very precise.

This is a well stitched piece of embroidery. Chinese artists are good at combining poetry, calligraphy, paintings and stamps, even some empty spaces perfectly together. All the Chinese characters and stamps were embroidered well here too.
