Description: This is an embroidery recreation of a famous painting from a contemporary picture-book and Chinese brush painter. It is well-known as the Bevy of Beauties (a genre in traditional Chinese painting) -- Hua Sanchuan (1930-2004). There were many Bevy of Beauties paintings from famous painters at different periods from history, but his examples are well-known as poetry in painting.

The silk threads are extra thin in this embroidery piece and they were very densely stitched. Overlay stitches were used for their dresses, hair and many other sections.
