This is metallic and silk thread embroidery piece of a famous pattern -- Dragon Phoenix with Ball. The dragon flies and the phoenix dances firmly and gently together. It constitutes a quaint and heroic pattern. The pattern symbolizes harmonious, strength and luck in general.

This piece needed special techniques and stitches (Couching Stitch) to embroider on the satin materials with the golden metallic thread. Metallic thread are harder than silk thread, so we lay metallic thread along with the design and couch on them by silk floss thread. The finished embroidery art would look shiny metallic image at front side and silk embroidery image at the back side.
